Gradual Chimeric Genetic Upgrade

A lot of people look to uploading or cyborgism when they think of radical life extension, but an other option might be a Gradual Chimeric Genetic Upgrade.

It might be possible at sometime in the future to extract normal cells from an individual, delete defective or unwanted gene sequences in the lab, and replacing them with working and or better ones. These cells could be converted in to stems cells, cultured up and then reinjected directly into the donor or incorporated into to a 3D printed spare part and then implanted.

We already know that many mothers are already chimeras, so having multiple sets of genes in your body shouldn’t be a big problem.

So the main missing link is now probably understanding the genetic code better and how and what to replace the dodgy code with.
