Collective Intelligence Optimisation

My (Wayne Eddy's) Thoughts

I think finding ways of optimising human collective intelligence is one of the most important things that we as a civilization can possibly do at this point in time.

Despite the fact that adding people to a group adds to the total brain power of the group it doesn't always increase the collective intelligence of the group. In fact just about everywhere you look (the work place, government, business) you probably see nearly as many (if not more) examples of collective stupidity or parellising indecision as you do of collective intelligence resulting in better quicker decisions.
