Artificial Intelligence

AI is a robust academic and industry field, largely concerned with building specialized intelligent applications. There is no consensus among expert researchers as to how, or when, AIs possessing general intelligence comparable to human minds will be created.

Ray Kurzweil believes that the human brain will be fully modelled and simulated in the 2030's.

Ben Goertzel believes that human-level Artificial General Intelligence can be achieved on this time-frame, via an integrative computer science approach not necessarily closely based on the human brain.
